MEDAN — In an effort to improve the quality of academic governance and prepare study programs to achieve an Excellent Accreditation rating, the Directorate of Quality Assurance of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) organized a socialization session on the latest accreditation instruments issued by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting (LAMEMBA). The event was held at the 4th Floor Video Conference Room of the USU Rectorate Bureau on Tuesday, August 10, 2026.

The session featured Prof. Dr. Yeni Absah, S.E., M.Si. as the keynote speaker, who provided a comprehensive overview of the 2025 LAMEMBA assessment instruments based on LAMEMBA Regulation Number 2 of 2025.

In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Yeni Absah explained that the LAMEMBA Excellent Accreditation Instrument consists of 7 Criteria, 21 Dimensions, and 58 Indicators. The assessment focuses on exceeding the National Higher Education Standards (SN Dikti), which are distributed across three clusters: Input (9 indicators), Process (20 indicators), and, with the largest proportion, Output/Outcome (29 indicators).

In addition, three key aspects of the updated LAMEMBA instruments were highlighted as important areas of attention for study programs:

  1. Integration of Risk Management in strategy development and implementation.
  2. Management of cleanliness, health, and safety of facilities that are disability-friendly and promote gender equality.
  3. Implementation of an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum.

The Directorate of Quality Assurance of USU emphasized the importance of ensuring that all study program managers across USU understand the 8 Indicators of Necessary Requirements for Excellent Accreditation, fulfill faculty qualification and output requirements, and achieve the threshold for indicators exceeding the SN Dikti standards—at least 70% for two-year accreditation or 90% for five-year accreditation.

Through this activity, the Directorate of Quality Assurance of USU hopes that all Study Program Management Units (UPPS) will develop a common understanding and be fully prepared to optimally prepare the Self-Evaluation Document (DED) and Study Program Performance Report (LKPS) in pursuit of the best possible accreditation outcomes.
